Mohamed Zidan (Borussia Dortmund, Germany)
Having been released by hometown club Al Masry because of his small stature, the young Mohamed Zidan was forced to move to third-division side Borfouad in a bid for regular football. But it was while he was accompanying his father on a business trip to Denmark that his luck would change forever, with a football scout spotting him playing in a public park and offering him a trial at Copenhagen club B93.
There he spent a few days before joining fellow capital outfit AB Copenhagen, where the silky-skilled Egyptian continued to hone his talents before earning a switch to FC Midtjylland - where he became one of Danish football's biggest stars.
After spells with Werder Bremen, Mainz05 and HSV Hamburg Mohamed Zidan's favourite coach Jurgen Klopp secured a top flight spot with Borussia Dortmund since the summer of 2008.
