Last gasp winner
Last gasp winner by Wael Gomma from Aboutreika's free-kick to virtually send Ismaily crashing out of the cup after after an entertaining encounter.

Its not exactly over for Ismaily since their next game will be at home against Heartland. If they manage to win that, they will still be within reaching distance of JSK and Ahly. However, anything less than a win and they can count themselves out.

A good game to watch for the neutral. Ismaily started off very well and were the better team in the first half. However, made some changes at half-time, bringing on Geddo, and quickly took control of the match. Its too bad the game had to end on a sour note, there was definitely a push on the Ismaily defender by Ahmed Hassan in the build up to the goal but that's football, sometimes you get the calls and sometimes you don't.

Exactly, mistakes do happen and this one could have been called on or off by the best of refs. The scene made by Ismaily crew and players was uncalled for and totally lacks sportsmanship. It spoiled their great display throughout the game. I just wish that this Ahly 'conspiracy theory': the ready made excuses of ref corruption and state support, would vanish and that teams like Ismaily could just focus on their game play and realize their full potential. After all Ahly, like all other teams in the world, is subject to the same ref errors in their matches. It's very amateurish to pretend otherwise.

Geddo
What did you make of Geddo's first appearance for Ahly? I think he has not disappointed the expectations...his African saga was no fluke. He has the style and flare for a very promising career.

I didn't watch the entire second half (hunger kicked in and I was on a mission to find some food) but from what I saw he didn't really stand out. However, he did have a nice 1-2 with Talaat which almost resulted in a goal were it not for the save by Sobhy.
One thing is for sure though, when he came into the game at halftime, Ahly played a much better game than they did in the first.
